Tips for Preparation

  • Sheets are not accepted as backing.

  • Please trim loose/stray threads. Dark threads will show through after quilting.

  • If requesting binding service, please include fabric. Contact me if you are unsure of the amount required.

  • Fragile quilt tops may be refused unless you agree to accept risk of damage.

  • Quilts Should be pressed, but not basted.

  • If you provide backing or batting, it should be 8” longer and wider than the top; i.e. a 50x50” top would need backing or batting measuring 58x58'“

  • Quilt top, backing and batting should be single pieces or sewn and squared with straight edges and no selvages in the seam. Backing seams should be pressed open, or to one side.

  • I cannot accept responsibility for fullness pieced into the quilt, but will do my best to minimize puckers and wrinkles.

  • A complimentary print is recommended for the backing as it will hide the tie offs and backstitching better.

  • The same color thread must be used on the front and back.

  • It is recommended to use a light color thread if the majority of is white.
